On Saturday July 21, 2007, Benjamin was diagnosed with leukemia.  Ben has ALL type-B leukemia and has tested positive for the Philadephia chromosone. The prognosis for leukemia patients with the Philadelpha chromosone is poor. There is a < 10% chance Ben will survive.

Benjamin is the adorable 3 year old son of a single parent. With at least 3 years of chemotherapy ahead of him, Ben and his mom Jennifer are at the start of a very long road.

There are always financial challenges for single parents, but with Ben's new medical needs, Jennifer will be facing significant financial difficulties. She needs to be able to focus on Benjamin’s health and not worry about mounting bills.

Some friends of Benjamin and Jennifer who are members of  the three organizations below are banding together to raise funds to help defer the costs of Ben’s treatment.
